Where we begin is not where we end.
To that end, can we change the beginning? Unlikely.
We may not be able to change the beginning, but we can influence the path. We can choose the direction of the path. But what occurs while on the path will not be our choosing. It will be our response to the whims of the path that is in our control.
So, that is what we did. We changed the direction of the path.
The path we were on was stable enough. Or, at least, seemed to be. But was that the direction with which we were comfortable? It appeared too comfortable. Too easy. Too predictable.
In life, there are no do-overs. The choice you make is what comprises your story – you take a step, you create, your path. We wanted to upset that path, to see where the whim of the path (really the hand of the Creator) would take us. We don’t want to live with regrets. Wishing we had jumped in the water, instead, staying on shore.
To that end, we decided to take a risk. To challenge ourselves, trusting the path the Creator would create for us. What better way for us to submit ourselves totally to the whim of the Creator. Give him our path, and choose to follow. Not choosing to lead.
Our home, our stability we gave up. Our community, our support we put on hold. And now…the choice to go where ever the world takes us.
We don’t know yet where that will be. It’s not planned. But wherever we end up, we want to live life well. We want to be available, and want to go where the Creator wants to send us. We are not going with expectations, but we are going expectantly.
